About the role
This entry-level general labor position maintains a safe work environment and adheres to company policies and procedures. Under immediate direction, the role performs a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist with operation setup lines and area according to established procedures and specifications.
- Verify correct setup and running of equipment to obtain desired results.
- Inspect product periodically through the shift to verify specifications are being met.
- Assist the operator in troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
- Perform operator job functions when the operator is not present.
- Contact management support for any problems that may arise.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow Safety lockout/tag-out procedures.
- Communicate any issues to management.
- Follow instructions well and assist others as needed.
- Understand and follow/instruct others on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Work in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0-1 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at machine speed.
- Ability to understand written English preferred.
- Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite products.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Work Environment
- Work is performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyors.
- Conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
- No domestic travel is required.
- Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent or infrequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, using hands or fingers, talking, hearing, and feeling objects, tools, or controls.
- Requires standing/walking on concrete flooring for greater than 4 hours.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.00 to $20.50 per hour. The final hourly rate offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations.
Additional compensation may include overtime pay, shift differentials, and/or bonus opportunities, as applicable.
