Production Utility Operator

Hourly, non-exempt position on a swing rotation with straight dayshift or nightshift schedule. Reports to the Production Supervisor.

About the role

The Production Utility Operator prepares and handles chemicals for a 30-vessel chemical plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of processing equipment including mixing controls on production vessels, filters, and pumps.
• Prepare and clean equipment to drum off product into correct containers.
• Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and forklifts.
• Unload/transfer product from tank wagons, storage tanks, and reactors for storage and shipment to customers.
• Stage raw materials for production.
• Trained on the warehouse flow of stock and partial materials.
• Assist other team members when necessary.
• Maintain error-free record keeping and complete necessary mathematical calculations.
• Use general computer skills to operate out label and Chempax program.
• Package material once QC approved (does not produce batches).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hotter or colder than typical) for long periods.
• Able to stay work-focused in one location with repetitive tasks.
• Must be available to work 24/7 rotating swing shifts, including nightshift (shift differential provided).
