Production Utility Associate - Taylorsville Stud Mill

About the role

The Production Utility Associate position at Georgia-Pacific's Taylorsville, MS Stud Mill facility involves performing a variety of tasks related to the production of high-quality pine studs. This role is part of a team that ensures the efficient and safe operation of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Pull and lift lumber, studs, or wood scraps weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Sort, stack, and bundle studs according to size, grade, and project requirements.
• Avoid waste and ensure materials are used efficiently.
• Assist in clean up, operation, and maintenance of production equipment, including machine operation and forklift operation.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards, including wearing safety equipment.
• Read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
• Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates to complete tasks, meet safety, production, and quality goals.
• Cross train on various machines to increase operational knowledge.

Requirements

• At least one (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.
• Ability to work any hours, to include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) or more years of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.

Skills

• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks such as lifting (50lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day.

Pay

$21.28 per hour, with the possibility of increasing compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.

Schedule

This role is eligible for variable pay and candidates must be flexible to be assigned to work any shift, including first, second, or third shift, as needed. Orientation will be on the day shift and you will be assigned your permanent shift after your orientation.
