Production Utility Associate - Taylorsville Stud Mill

About the role

Your Job Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for a Production Utility Associate for our Taylorsville, MS Stud Mill facility. We manufacture high-quality pine studs used in residential and light commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Pull and lift lumber, studs, or wood scraps weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Sort, stack, and bundle studs according to size, grade, and project requirements.
• Avoids spills and damage to materials by operating and maintaining production equipment, including but not limited to: machine operation, and forklift operation.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards, including wearing safety equipment.
• Read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
• Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates to complete tasks, meet safety, production, and quality goals.
• Cross train on various machines to increase operational knowledge.

Requirements

• At least one (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.
• At least two (2) or more years of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.

Qualifications

• Physical Requirements: Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties. Work in a non-climate-controlled mill, with dust, noise and temperatures that can be higher in the summer and lower in the winter. Perform tasks such as lifting (50lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day.

Skills

• Ability to work any hours, to include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay

Salary $21.28 per hour. You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.

Schedule

This role is eligible for variable pay. Shift Only candidates who are flexible to be assigned to work any shift will be considered.
