Production Trainee Truss Builder

About the role

We are hiring Truss Builders in Mansfield, OH with no experience necessary. We seek dependable candidates with a stable work history who are ready to learn and grow. Responsibilities

• Assemble roof and floor trusses using production equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Learn to read and accurately build from engineered production drawings
• Focus on quality, accuracy, and safety
• Collaborate with a driven team to meet production goals
• Insert or position materials, clamp, splice, fit parts by hand and with power tools, and verify dimensions of cut material by following supervisor's instructions, blueprint specifications, and the cut sheet layout
• Use a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints
• Perform quality control of assembled items and propose process improvements to increase efficiency
• Follow the prioritized production list assigned by the Assembler Lead and use assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber
• Fulfill daily machine and area cleanup procedures

Requirements

• No previous truss‑building or construction experience required
• A stable work history and a record of dependable attendance
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a strong team‑first attitude
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information one‑on‑one
• Ability to read and understand simple diagrams, blueprints, and a tape measure
• Ability to work 10‑12 hour shifts and lift up to 80 pounds
• High school diploma or GED

Pay

Starting pay with no experience: $17.50/hr and up based on experience. Pay for candidates with roof or floor truss assembly experience is negotiable.

Schedule

1st shift, full‑time (10‑12 hour shifts).
