About the role
Under close supervision, you will be responsible for the safe production and quality of Frozen Fruit through the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of food production and packaging equipment. This role involves various physical tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing, and pulling of frozen fruit boxes while adhering to all GMP, HACCP, safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation.
- Maintain safe working conditions and comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Produce high-quality products safely and efficiently.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics, including efficiency, production, and downtime.
- Work in all areas of production and packaging, including operating machinery and crossing over or under equipment.
- Perform essential job functions as part of a team, including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing, and pulling frozen fruit boxes.
- Work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Complete routine documentation related to product manufacturing.
- Identify visual defects, make corrections as needed, and distinguish between colors.
- Work in areas with varying temperatures (40-47 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Maintain regular attendance and perform duties in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Follow the Dole Packaged Foods Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMPs, and general instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Previous operating experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance is essential.
- Ability to operate manual and motorized pallet jacks and walkie stackers.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must pass a job-specific Physical Ability Test (PAT).
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours on concrete and/or metal grating.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, kneel, and turn throughout the workday.
- Reach with hands and arms below and above shoulder level.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 40-47 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Frequent squatting, kneeling, and bending.
- Climb stairs and perform movements such as standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, and lifting.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Employment is contingent upon passing a drug screen, background verification, and skills test for some positions.
