Production Technician - Athens, GA

About the role
Eaton’s Mobility Group is seeking a Production Technician based at our Athens, GA location. We manufacture superchargers for high-performance engines at this facility. The hourly rate for this position is $19.52 per hour, and it is eligible for a variable incentive program. Core hours are 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
Eaton announced plans to separate its Mobility Group into an independent, publicly traded company by the end of the first quarter of 2027. Compensation and benefits are based on Eaton's current plans, with further details to be provided by the new company at the time of separation.
Responsibilities
- Operate safely and efficiently with various manufacturing and CNC equipment and related systems.
- Produce and assemble high-performance superchargers and associated components, meeting quantity and quality expectations while ensuring safety.
- Work within established quality and Eaton Business System (EBS) standards.
- Maintain production records for assigned positions and participate in a team environment.
- Complete daily tasks in compliance with work standards and utilize work instructions for proper procedures.
- Work in assembly, test, and machining areas; on-the-job training will be provided for each work area.
- Comply with all standard Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices and guidelines, as well as company policies.
- Monitor and maintain efficient manufacturing equipment, manual and automatic gauging systems, and material handling systems.
- Perform checking and gauging functions to ensure machines operate within specifications.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously and perform adjustments to ensure parts are within allowable tolerances, including offsets and tooling condition monitoring.
- Perform machine changeovers and change tool inserts as needed.
- Identify and report potential equipment problems to maintenance.
- Collaborate with peers, Maintenance, Quality, and Leadership teams to problem-solve and correct production-related issues.
- Comply with all IATF 16949 standards and quality requirements, including visual inspections.
- Stop and correct job operations if product quality is negatively affected.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area, adhering to Eaton’s 5S+ Workplace Organizational Program.
- Perform operator-related preventative maintenance and cleaning as required.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of production equipment and CNC machinery.
- Ability to run, set up, and change over equipment.
- Able to lift parts up to 50 lbs. frequently, including pushing and pulling.
- Must live within 50 miles of the Athens, GA site location.
Skills
- Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, aprons, hard hats, and chemical face shields as required.
- Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ability to perform lockout/tag-out procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and following blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and equipment operations manuals.
- Ability to use measuring instruments and gauges, including calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
Pay
$19.52 per hour, plus eligibility for a variable incentive program.
