About the role

Join Vylor as a Production Technician at our Fremont, Iowa location. This on-site role supports our mission of advancing agriculture through breakthrough science and trusted industry brands like Pioneer®, Brevant®, and Hoegemeyer®. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in harvest activities such as preparation, drying, shelling, husk oversight, product unloading, and other relevant processes
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant, field, and warehouse operations that evolve seasonally
  • Monitor highly automated equipment for harvesting, conditioning, treating, and packing
  • Engage in product return and sorting activities
  • Participate in conditioning activities including sizing, gravity operation, packaging, and palletizing
  • Use automation and computerized systems (computers and iPads) to perform work tasks
  • Perform warehouse activities such as forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, and related duties
  • Various other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or willingness to obtain a GED within twelve (12) months of hire
  • Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas
  • Capability to stand and sit for extended periods
  • Willingness to work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. and perform work involving repetitive motion and lifting
  • Comfort with technology and good computer aptitude, including Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to learn other company-specific applications as required
  • High diligence, multitasking ability, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, and adaptability to change
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to integrity, a positive working environment, and assisting team members
  • Adherence to health and safety protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime, including nights and weekends during seasonal peaks

Qualifications

  • Two-Year Technical or associate’s degree in agriculture, manufacturing, or related field (stands out)
  • One (1) year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry (stands out)
  • Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work (stands out)
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractor, forklift, etc.) (stands out)
