About the role
We are seeking a Chemical Technician to handle chemicals, solutions, and chemical waste safely, perform cleaning operations on critical parts, maintain production records, take measurements for critical dimensions, and work in a cleanroom environment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards, and strong teamwork to meet customer delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Work within a team to achieve customer-dictated delivery schedules
- Operate in a cleanroom environment for specialty processes
- Support design-of-experiments and customer process development
- Handle chemicals, solutions, and chemical waste safely and appropriately
- Perform cleaning operations on critical parts
- Maintain consistency and precision in following production processes
- Keep detailed production records for all parts processed through each station
- Take measurements for critical dimensions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certificate or associate’s degree in chemical technology or a related field (e.g., chemical process engineering) preferred
- Laboratory experience or equivalent experience working with chemicals is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, handle delicate parts and equipment, and work with hazardous materials
- Strong quality orientation and pride in work
- Comfortable using computers for various workflows
Skills
- Regular communication with Production Lead and teammates regarding daily assignments and production discrepancies
- Collaboration with Manufacturing Director to improve quality and processes
Working Conditions
- Work environment includes both production and professional office settings
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), and moving mechanical parts or equipment
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment
- Regular lifting and/or moving of up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, talk, hear, and smell
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- May require working non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Frequent movement throughout the facility, including sitting, standing, and using a computer for extended periods
