About the Role
The Production Technician plays a crucial role in PIC's operations, focusing on maintaining the highest standards of animal health and welfare on farms. Key responsibilities include animal husbandry tasks, record keeping, assisting with animal movements, treating sick animals, and maintaining barn and office cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily animal husbandry tasks
- Maintain accurate and timely production information and records
- Treat sick animals with various pharmaceuticals
- Maintain barn and office cleanliness
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to animal care and safety
- Participate in the emergency notification process
- Follow company safety and biosecurity protocols
Requirements
- Previous livestock handling experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Flexibility to adapt to changing plans
Qualifications
Successful candidates should possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in animal care is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills
Basic knowledge of animal care practices, good physical fitness, and the ability to operate farm equipment are essential. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are also important.
