Job Summary
The Production Technician position at ASU Air Liquide in Taft, LA is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Air Separation Unit (ASU). This role requires a combination of technical skills and safety awareness.
Job Duties
- Demonstrate an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures.
- Operational checks of equipment, monitoring performance, making and logging equipment rounds, safety and other equipment inspections as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to documentation and record retention policies and procedures.
- Support and comply with all safety, health, and environmental procedures as defined by site and corporate personnel.
- Operate the ASU plant in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
- Develop equipment purging and isolation plans (LOTO) as required.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance activities in a safe manner.
- Enter work orders into CMMS (Maximo) as required.
- Bring a constructive, professional mindset and have the ability to align with operational guidance.
- Provide On-call Assistance Or Work Additional Shifts When Required.
- Actively participate in training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of technical training and/or operations experience.
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts and extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays in order to meet shift and on-call requirements.
- Ability to use computers with knowledge of Google software.
- Knowledge and understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, with a strong willingness to learn new things.
- Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, FRC clothing and 4-GAS monitor.
- Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb and ascend vertical ladders as required and work off elevated platforms/surfaces.
- Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
