Production - Technical Sub Contractor
This is a W2 contract position located within a 50-mile radius of Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Detroit, or Ann Arbor, MI. Occasional travel to other locations in Michigan or surrounding states may be required. US citizenship is required; sponsorship is not available.
About the Role
This Technical Subcontract Management (TSM) field support position provides onsite support at multiple Lockheed Martin (LM) major system and airframe suppliers, primarily in Michigan. Approximately 90% of the TSM's time will be spent onsite at a LM supplier facility. As a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team, the TSM minimizes disruptions to the supply chain by providing “in the field” oversight of supplier execution.
Responsibilities
- Work with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing.
- Validate the status of deliverable parts and provide detailed status updates to LM procurement.
- Prepare plans to reduce or prevent shortages.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation plans to minimize impact to LM.
- Analyze supplier processes and develop improvement plans in collaboration with supplier and LM personnel.
- Collaborate across multiple functions (production, procurement, quality, engineering) to expedite parts/assemblies supporting LM Aeronautics Lines of Business (LOB).
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supplier personnel at varying organizational levels.
Requirements
- Understanding of production processes related to aircraft systems components, avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.
- Ability to analyze supplier processes and develop improvement plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Schedule
Onsite visits at supplier facilities 30–40 hours per week.
