PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Report to work when scheduled; directly affect delivery and customer service scores.
  • Assign work to others and monitor progress of orders to ensure on-time delivery to customer.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring others' activities and performing own work according to safety policies and procedures; always prevent injury to self and others.
  • Operate efficiently to reduce costs, measured by time worked compared to time needed for product completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Ensure quality product production that meets all specifications.
  • Identify and label products with appropriate tags and markings.
  • Package products to prevent damage and label for proper identification.
  • Identify and report non-conforming parts/products to supervisor.
  • Order necessary operating materials and purchase locally when possible.
  • Monitor work activities and assist as required to keep personnel on task.
  • Read and understand all written and verbal instructions related to product.
  • Assemble raw materials into quality products using various machines and tools.
  • Perform required inspections using appropriate tools.
  • Record daily production results on required forms.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read tape measure, ruler, and/or dial indicator.
  • Apply mathematical reasoning to basic arithmetic operations.
  • Assist and/or coordinate on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Correct or report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately to supervisor.
  • Interpret product drawings and specifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment of up to 500,000 square feet.
  • Must be able to work in noisy, dusty areas to include moving in and around closely spaced pallets and other work products.
  • Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions working without temperature control; may be for extended periods of time.
  • Must comply with safety precautions and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Must adhere to company safety regulations in all areas of the facility.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a computer with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must have manufacturing experience in a warehouse.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification within six (6) months of initial employment.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of date of hire.
