Production Support

About the role

Production Support is responsible for operating case erectors and material handling equipment, including forklifts and squeeze trucks, to ensure efficient production and packaging operations.

Responsibilities

• Support gluer uptime by ensuring erected cases are delivered in a timely manner.
• Train others to operate case erectors as needed.
• Perform case erector make readies and operational preventative maintenance tasks.
• Execute SAP work orders on case erectors and assist with conveyor jams.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming corrugate.
• Operate the down stroke bailer and organize/maintain corrugated inventory for use on gluers.
• Stage corrugated for case erectors and operate four balers, ensuring proper loading of baling wire (minimum four wires per bale).
• Perform daily baler operator inspections and cleaning.
• Safely operate material handling equipment (forklift, squeeze truck) to move materials as needed.
• Report any potentially unsafe conditions related to food safety or SQF compliance.
• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Report any SQF-related issues or customer complaints to a person of authority.

Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift fifty (50) pounds.
• Able to multi-task, bend, twist, stoop, and occasionally reach to change tape on case erectors.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
