Production Supervisor (Weekend Nights)

About the role

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Supervisor on Weekend Nights to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey. This position oversees and motivates the manufacturing workforce to produce high-quality products efficiently and safely, ensuring schedules meet business and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Directs and motivates the manufacturing workforce to produce high-quality products in the most efficient and safe manner.
• Ensures scheduling meets business and customer needs.
• Aids in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) value and policy statement.
• Complies with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations.
• Wears all required personal protective equipment and reports all job-related illnesses and injuries.
• Reports all safety, health, and environmental concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Attends all EHS training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience.
• Experience supervising in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with TPM, Synchronous Mfg, and Kaizen Concepts.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, have good team-building skills, excellent people skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; technically oriented.
• Energetic and self-starter, able to promote and implement change; strong PC and telephone skills; good organizational skills; ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere.

Pay and Schedule

Anticipated Pay Range: $80k-$100k per year. Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Skills

Supervises an effective team; includes planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals as appropriate, managing staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leaves of absence), assisting with career development (motivates, coaches, and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation), approving time and attendance, and prioritizing and making work assignments.

Manages training and orientation of employees to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, to improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures.

Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.

Schedules production and work teams.

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operations, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
