About the role
The Production Supervisor ensures accurate and timely completion of job orders while overseeing, training, and evaluating a team of operators. This role focuses on safe manual processes to produce quality products for timely distribution to customers.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule activities in collaboration with other departments.
- Direct and formally evaluate the performance of a team of operators.
- Maintain functional knowledge of processes to ensure jobs are completed on time and meet quality requirements.
- Observe, monitor, and enforce compliance with safety requirements; stop production if safety is compromised.
- Interact effectively with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and auditors.
- Use computer systems to track work, record scrap, maintain inventory records, and complete required documentation.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles and promote continuous improvement in productivity and waste elimination.
- Demonstrate leadership in hiring, promoting, disciplining, transferring, and terminating operators.
- Assess operator abilities, provide training, determine competency, and maintain training records.
- Uphold all policies and procedures and resolve conflicts.
- Review and approve time management records.
- Develop and maintain operational data spreadsheets and interpret key performance metrics.
- Uphold and promote Indium Corporation’s Quality Management System, including recommending improvements.
- Attend assigned training and perform other duties or special projects as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of related work experience, or prior experience as an Indium Corporation Production Group Leader.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Positive mentoring and leadership qualities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing concepts such as planning, scheduling, inventory management, workflow, and basic Lean concepts.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
- Positive attitude toward work and work environment.
- Reliable transportation for local or day travel, including between Indium Corporation facilities.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 3rd shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM at 5836 Success Drive, Rome, NY.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $32.75 per hour ($41,600 - $68,120 annually). The actual range will vary based on factors such as prior experience, knowledge, skill, education, and internal equity.
