Production Supervisor, Nights
About the role
The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in driving production results, ensuring budgeted performance, meeting line performance objectives, and maintaining washout timelines. This position collaborates with maintenance to ensure operations and maintenance handshakes, adheres to PM programs, and shares knowledge. The supervisor also develops and implements systems to improve production efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and ensure compliance to health and safety policies, GMPs, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards.
- Lead and direct the work of other employees.
- Conduct daily meetings with shift leads to identify and resolve issues.
- Draft and post weekly employee schedules based on production requirements.
- Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, drive efficiencies, and eliminate out-of-specification or damaged products.
- Foster a positive team environment to promote cooperation and teamwork.
- Operate and perform changeovers efficiently, ensuring correct settings and parts are installed and no mechanical defects exist.
- Record and maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Keep accurate downtime reports and documentation.
- Address inquiries related to SQF and HACCP.
- Understand and follow standard operating procedures and measurements.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct GEMBA walks through the plant.
- Facilitate and provide training to ensure production schedules are met within budget, product specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Oversee specific plant areas, such as blow molding.
Requirements
- Experience in a fast-moving packaged goods environment, beverage production experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of production machinery/forklifts, including technical issues.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Forklift certification may be required.
- Available for shift work.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Business, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in beverages.
- SAP prior experience a strong asset.
Working Conditions
A rapid, often demanding environment where attention must be concentrated in the face of numerous changing stimuli. Work and environment are very repetitive. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised, with clear production targets and schedules to meet.
Schedule
Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, nights, and holidays may be required.
