Responsibilities

  • Oversee your respective department to meet goals and standards for quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Develop and train team members in alignment with the company Handbook and policies.
  • Monitor standards and indexes to control your area of responsibility.
  • Provide quick and timely feedback to the superintendent on exceptions related to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance is completed on equipment in your area and interface with your supervisor on suggested improvements for efficiency, profitability, and safety.
  • Conduct safety orientations and hold safety/general meetings as required.
  • Test and develop techniques and processes on equipment as directed by your superintendent.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in business management or equivalent work experience (five to ten years) in the food processing industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mathematical background to perform calculations on yield, productivity, time cards, reports, etc.
  • Ability to evaluate team members fairly and objectively; strong human resource skills.
  • Growth potential to assume more responsibility.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete/metal grate floor.
  • Ability to interface daily with all support groups or departments.
