Responsibilities

  • Directly manage, hire and train Operators and Maintenance personnel; provide guidance and performance feedback
  • Oversee shift-to-shift operations of the plant, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Maintain inventory levels and coordinate material procurement to support production
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize plant performance and meet production targets
  • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing measures
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance to assess equipment condition, facility cleanliness, and ensure optimal performance
  • Prepare reports on plant performance, including production metrics, quality control data, and safety incidents

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in an operations management role with hiring and people management
  • Proven track record of leading production/processing systems
  • Possess the ability to work with ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions that provide data that is then analyzed and synthesized to make balanced assessments and smart decisions
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with operating machinery and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs. frequently; able to bend, stand, walk, sit, kneel frequently; able to operate equipment and repetitive tasks throughout their shift; able to handle potential changes in temperature on site, humidity and wetness in working area
