Production Supervisor-Longview

About the role

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor, 3rd Shift, at our Longview, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the supervision of all production and personnel related functions of the Fabrication department. Employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.

The successful candidate will directly supervise hourly production personnel and communicate daily with management regarding production, personnel, scheduling, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise hourly employees in production, quality, safety, and order value
• Monitor adherence to procedures involving order processing and paperwork
• Ensure company policies are communicated and followed
• Maintain a safe operation per all company standards and guidelines
• Establish and maintain quality consistent with customer expectations using Kaizen continuous improvement methods
• Review and approve all department personnel time records daily
• Contribute to team building

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Flexibility to work off hours and extended hours as production warrants
• 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• 1–3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of SAP (preferred but not required)
