Responsibilities
- Schedule timely arrangement of customer orders by producing new product or by pulling from stocked product in accord with shipping schedules.
- Structure the production schedule to maximize production efficiencies with large material runs and minimal downtime for changeovers while meeting customer needs.
- Report to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure the safety of all employees on shift.
- Supervise employees, including hiring and retention, performance reviews, and discipline.
- Provide training and cross-training for employees.
- Coordinate maintenance of equipment and preventive maintenance.
- Run the schedule per the scheduler's specifications.
- Ensure the quality of all products produced and perform quality checks.
- Ensure proper scanning by coil persons and truck drivers.
- Orientate new employees.
- Manage inventory.
- Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Approve hours of work and payroll.
- Provide training to shop employees.
- Enforce all rules and regulations.
Safety
- Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE.
- Keep assigned work area clean at all times.
- Understand all safety devices and their operation; notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
- Safely operate all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises leads and hourly manufacturing in the shop.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined.
- Detail oriented.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related area preferred.
- 3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience.
- The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
- Standing: 8 or more hours per day.
- Walking: Off and on, 4-6 hours per day.
- Body Positions: Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms.
- Grasping: Both hands, up to 8 hours per day.
- Sitting: Occasionally.
- Pushing Effort: Occasionally.
- Pulling: Occasionally.
- Climbing (ladders/stairs): Occasionally.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility exposed to heat and cold.
- Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
- Noise-controlled environment.
- High activity level with continuous overhead crane and forklift movement.
