About the role
The Production Supervisor will oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, and adherence to schedules and delivery goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shop employees in a manufacturing environment
- Ensure workforce is at optimal levels, including vacation scheduling, and adjust schedules as necessary due to material or personnel shortages
- Ensure production is conducted in a timely and organized manner
- Deal fairly and consistently with all personnel, policies, contracts, discipline, etc., and treat people with respect
- Train and develop subordinates; mediate conflicts (listen, coach, mentor)
- Ensure parts produced meet quality standards and are correctly labeled
- Ensure a safe working environment and that employees are using safe working methods (including rotations)
- Provide current, up-to-date schedules to operators
- Communicate effectively between shifts and departments (internal customers, suppliers, scheduling, etc.), keeping operators informed
- Improve and maintain housekeeping
- Accurately complete timecards, ensure overtime equalization, account for all scrap and lost time
- Maintain knowledge of machines, fixtures, tools, and advise, set up, and make minor adjustments as necessary
- Communicate applicable processes for training purposes as required
- Knowledge and communication of all emergency procedures
- Liaison with planners regarding inventory levels of materials/finished products
- Lead and participate in problem-solving meetings
- Conduct assigned functions as per policies, procedures, and quality manuals
- Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions promoting continuous improvement within the organization
- Support and participate in Team Leader and Line Facilitator activities
- Follow systems for TS16949 and ISO14001
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3-5 years of production supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability in maintaining positive employment relations and maintaining a high level of integrity
- Excellent organizational and PC skills
