Production Supervisor Evenings - Aerofil
Position Summary
Aids the Manager in developing and leading value stream continuous improvement to drive a Lean Operating System. Oversees planning, directing, and monitoring shift production. Manages quality levels, production quantities, and manufacturing costs.
Essential Functions
- Conducts STOP audits; participates in safety and housekeeping inspections, tracks daily production goals, accident reports, if needed, and production summaries.
- Assigns production employees to job and work stations, establishes daily production goals, conducts production line orientation including safety and evacuation routes.
- Trains production employees for various production jobs with documentation.
- Develops employee LEAN skills through effective coaching, teaching, and mentoring.
- Develops and executes value stream improvement plans. Facilitates team activities as needed.
- Performs various projects in support of LEAN initiatives. Performs LEAN audits and places corrective measures in place if audit does not pass.
- Trains and assists subordinates in the 5W process to drive continuous improvement. Conducts 6S audits every shift and enforces sustainment with subordinates.
- Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner with measurable goals for all employees. Conducts shift walkthroughs with incoming and outgoing Production Leaders from the other shifts, reviewing visuals at each location and taking action, if necessary.
- Drives continuous improvement throughout all facets of the Value Stream. Performs random quality checks and ensures all employees are properly trained in regards to Quality Control.
- Takes on a Strategy Deployment opportunity yearly and leads improvement in the identified opportunity. Focuses on increased throughput driven by continuous improvement, with a focus on Safety and first-time Quality performance.
- Maintains regular attendance per handbook policy.
- Participates in one RIE per year for Continuous Improvement. Provides training for all reporting subordinates. Monitors timestar and approves weekly work hours.

- Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
- Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
- This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other works, accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motion - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity with or without assistance such as: operates machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades’ tasks of a non-repetitive nature.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Workplace Requirements - Actively practice safety in all aspects of the job. Know and practice proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Know and follow Standard Work. Know and recognize quality products and practices, and take action when defects are identified. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes respect and teamwork between coworkers, customers, vendors, and management.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attendance record and exceptional performance in the past 12 months.
- Previous LEAN manufacturing experience preferred.

- Must provide a writing sample by submitting a one (1) page, written essay on why the best candidate for the position.
