About the role
The Production Supervisor oversees a team responsible for completing production and sanitation tasks. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating work activities and resources to manufacture food products while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, quantity, and cost specifications. The supervisor ensures compliance with company and regulatory processes, including safety, food safety, and human resources, while continuously improving production and sanitation best practices through training, standards development, data analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Leads team members to support safety, food safety, operations, sanitation, and personnel development.
- Ensures a safe and healthy workplace while maintaining product quality and adhering to safe work practices and GMPs.
- Reports conditions affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management.
- Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
- Resolves operating problems to minimize impact on operations.
- Directs maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel to achieve production, sanitation, safety, and warehouse service goals.
- Manages ingredient, packaging usage, and department costs.
- Encourages employee suggestions to improve production, quality, safety, and cost control.
- Participates on the plant safety team and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Fosters coordinated work relationships across departments and enforces company policies fairly and consistently.
- Maintains consistent communications and participates in or leads meetings as required.
- Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develops self and team members' skill sets to improve work standards and performance.
- Drives individual accountability and ownership of results in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Maintains accurate records (e.g., timekeeping, downtime, absentee records).
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.
- Works overtime or weekends when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry.
Skills

- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multi-functional tasks.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
