About the Role
The Manufacturing Supervisor leads day-to-day production operations in a fast-paced, union manufacturing environment. This role ensures safety, quality, cost, and delivery expectations are consistently met while directly supervising employees and enforcing company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Enforce safety standards and address unsafe conditions immediately.
- Assign work, set priorities, and adjust staffing to meet production goals.
- Monitor quality and ensure products meet specifications.
- Train and coach employees, verify understanding and application of job tasks and procedures, and provide feedback and corrective direction as needed.
- Apply company policies, work rules, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement consistently and fairly.
- Administer progressive discipline in line with established guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of performance, attendance, and incidents.
- Review and enforce timekeeping and attendance requirements.
- Identify and resolve operational, production, and equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance and other departments as needed to support production flow.
- Lead shift (Tier 1) meetings and communicate expectations clearly.
- Support QMS requirements, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to enforce established safety policies and procedures.
- Minimum of five years of production management experience, preferably overseeing multiple shifts in a unionized environment.
- Experience with performance management, employee coaching, corrective action, and employee documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to lead a diverse workforce, address employee concerns, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook and Excel, and the ability to effectively use company timekeeping and other business systems.
- Experience monitoring and achieving performance KPIs; knowledge of Lean or similar continuous improvement practices preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or an equivalent Quality Management System (QMS) preferred.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily on the production floor in a textile manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial machinery, moving equipment, noise, airborne textile fibers, and varying temperatures.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the facility, with occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials as needed.
- Requires use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and safety footwear.
- Requires continuous awareness of operations and the ability to respond promptly to safety, production, equipment, and employee issues.
- Work is performed in a fast-paced environment requiring sustained attention, sound judgment, and compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
