Responsibilities

  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, adhering to safety measures and the company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Organize and maintain the assigned work area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders in process daily.
  • Communicate effectively with customer service regarding work in or coming to the area for processing.
  • Maintain shop orderliness and operate within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines.
  • Monitor department budget, project performance, and work with management to resolve problems and plan improvements.
  • Collaborate with Production Management and supervisors across shifts to determine and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
  • Maintain and reassign labor schedules as workload changes to keep production moving efficiently.
  • Execute schedules with urgency, prioritizing safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness.
  • Maintain and monitor appropriate documentation for all orders.
  • Supervise shop employees, organize work assignments, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly with employees, seek input on problem-solving, and clarify responsibilities and expected results.
  • Provide direction, counsel employees on performance, and offer training or assistance where needed.
  • Discuss disciplinary actions with department supervisors following established procedures.
  • Partner with supervisors to train employees on safety procedures and proper production techniques.
  • Ensure safe techniques for lifting and maneuvering materials at all stages of completion.
  • Resolve technical problems by involving appropriate personnel to maintain production flow and meet customer expectations.
  • Participate in improvement teams, Gemba walks, and meetings to support continuous process improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, innovations, and changes affecting production operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Sit: Occasionally (up to 33% of the time).
  • Manually Manipulate / Reach Outward / Grasp: Occasionally.
  • Squat or Kneel / Bend: Occasionally.
  • Speak: Constantly.
  • Lift/Carry:
    • 10 lbs or less: Occasionally.
    • 11-20 lbs: Occasionally.
    • 21-50 lbs: Occasionally.
  • Push/Pull:
    • 12 lbs or less: Occasionally.
    • 13-25 lbs: Occasionally.
  • Other Physical Requirements:
    • Vision (near and distance).
    • Ability to hear average conversations.
    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses.

Work Environment

Work is performed in shop conditions and can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
