Production Supervisor

About the Role

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to be based at our Conley, GA location. A successful Production Supervisor ensures our manufacturing department operates at peak efficiency while constantly improving output. This position oversees and conducts training for new team members, provides feedback, and develops their team. The role requires adaptability to changing business environments, departmental needs, and inter-departmental communication while maintaining confidentiality. This is a salaried exempt position reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Convey Management’s expectations and direction.
• Train, direct, and motivate employees; make recommendations to Management on their behalf.
• Supervise and coordinate plant floor activities in manufacturing processes such as cutting, tempering, laminating, fabricating, polishing, insulated glass, or loading glass products.
• Assist in overseeing or conducting training for new and existing employees, including work methods, safety training, and employee handbook guidelines.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to company specifications and direct machine setup and adjustments.
• Assist the Production Manager with timely and accurate feedback on performance reviews, disciplinary issues, material shortages, and equipment problems.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and terminations of employees as needed.
• Focus on retention, training, and continued development of hourly associates.
• Interface with team members daily and act as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient workflow.
• Ensure on-time delivery, manage raw material flow, and control inventory.
• Adhere to product and customer specifications.
• Comply with all required Employment Laws and OSHA regulations and policies.
• Provide accurate and timely production reporting.
• Maintain appropriate working relationships with internal and external customers and regulatory agency employees.
• Create and maintain a plant floor environment that promotes safety and safe operation of the entire process.
• Assess cost-reduction opportunities through resource utilization, process improvements, and creative staffing strategies.
• Maintain and improve high-quality levels by ensuring correct and accurate work processes.
• Apply 5S and Lean manufacturing knowledge.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a glass environment, with 5S and Lean manufacturing knowledge (required).
• Commitment to safe work practices.
