About the role

The position oversees direct labor staff, supervising their work performance, evaluating procedures, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and drawings. This role coordinates with various departments to meet project requirements, ensuring cost, quality, schedule, and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises work team in planning and executing assembly activities.
  • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff.
  • Fosters teamwork within the department.
  • Schedules, allocates, and monitors work orders.
  • Aligns with engineering, purchasing, operations, project engineers, quality control, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Ensures projects are completed within budgeted cost and schedule while meeting all quality requirements.
  • Maintains measurements for quality, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Ensures timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
  • Develops and implements standard work procedures to improve productivity.
  • Trains and informs employees of new work methods and procedures.
  • Maintains safe work practices, ensuring compliance with HSE programs.
  • Trains employees on safety regulations and work policies.
  • Identifies and recommends tools and equipment for efficiency improvements.
  • Validates and updates department training curriculum.
  • Completes tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Heavy Mechanical background experience with pumps, motors, process piping, valves, control valves, skid-based units, process skids, instrumentation.
  • Must read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and engineering assembly drawings.
  • Must be able to perform shop math.
  • 7-10 years technical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel.
  • Able to communicate issues and solutions with project engineers.
