About the role
The Production Supervisor oversees production in the assigned manufacturing area. The role plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team consisting of Team Leader(s) and production operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, encouraging continuous improvement and skill development.
- Ensure safety compliance by conducting regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain the highest level of quality in the production areas and collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that products meet or exceed the established quality standards.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency and overall productivity.
- Collaborate with the direct supervisors and peers to identify and implement process improvements.
- Effectively allocate resources, including manpower and equipment, to meet production demands.
- Cook up with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.
- Implement cross-training and operator onboarding plans to maintain qualified personnel for all required job skills.
- Maintain open and transparent communication channels with team members and upper management.
- Provide regular reports on Gemba/control tower meetings, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Average or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent (preferred)
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing operations in a front-line leadership role
- Experience working in an ERP system for production scheduling, reporting, and inventory management
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as in groups
