Production Supervisor

Description

The Production Supervisor - Converting at Smurfit Westrock is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of production within the Corrugated Container facility. Key responsibilities include:

• Executing safety briefs to team members on designated shift, daily, weekly, monthly and annually
• Maintaining a safe workplace environment by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions
• Ensuring compliance with company safety policies, safe work practices, and plant policies
• Monitoring and tracking production goals using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Managing workforce planning, including work schedules and attendance policies
• Communicating with all functional areas to ensure production needs are met
• Promoting positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication
• Supervising daily production activities and monitoring team member performance
• Maintaining and participating in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Operations Management (preferred)
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a packaging facility (required)
• Experience in a Lean environment, including Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred)
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving
• Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions
• Ability to coach and train employees
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and maintain equipment independently
• Self-directed team player with flexibility to work multiple shifts
