Production Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Monitor workflow, staffing, equipment utilization, and production priorities throughout the facility.
- Lead daily production meetings and coordinate activities across departments.
- Supervise production personnel, leads, and support staff.
- Cross-train employees and provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement throughout the organization.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
- Work closely with Quality to address nonconformances, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
- Cook up and execute production schedules.
- Maintain production performance and address bottlenecks impacting throughput.
- Ensure material, equipment, and labor resources are effectively utilized.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
- Lead problem-solving efforts using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Support preventive maintenance planning and production equipment readiness.
- Track and report key operational metrics including safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and labor efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Provide regular updates to the General Manager regarding operational performance and staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience supervising production personnel and leading manufacturing teams.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, manufacturing processes, and operational workflows.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and priorities.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 due to ITAR requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electronics, ceramics, aerospace, defense, or related manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with capacitor manufacturing or electronic component production.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Primarily based on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment, powders, chemicals, kilns, electronic test equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to use required PPE including safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves.
