The facility is a key production and after-market services site, operating under AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Position Summary
The Production Supervisor leads a team of 25 to 30 production employees through Production Leads to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality assembly, testing, repair, and overhaul of precision mechanical systems and customer-owned equipment. The work is high-mix, low-volume: custom and semi-custom builds requiring genuine technical understanding alongside strong people leadership. The role reports to the Plant Manager and includes responsibility for after-market services support, field service and warranty coordination, and repair and overhaul quoting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 25 to 30 production employees through Production Leads: hiring, onboarding, cross-training, performance management, and annual reviews.
- Drive on-time assembly of precision mechanical systems and sub-assemblies in a high-mix, low-volume custom environment, maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Direct overhaul and repair operations, including labor and material estimates; support the profitability of after-market repair and overhaul sales.
- Support the After-Market Services department with field service and warranty coordination and timely response to parts and repair quote requests.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing engineering, and program teams to optimize processes and resolve production issues.
- Monitor area expenses and flag variances to the Plant Manager; support budget compliance without direct P&L ownership.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement Lean-based solutions.
- Maintain accurate records in the ERP system; manage daily timekeeping, time-off approvals, and productivity tracking.
- Maintain facilities and equipment, including preventive maintenance schedules; coordinate outside services as needed.
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure safe operating practices across the production floor.
- Read and interpret plans, schematics, and specifications for assigned production projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree, certificate from a technical or trade school, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Five or more years of supervisory experience in the manufacturing of mechanical devices.
- Demonstrated experience with complex mechanical assembly processes in a high-mix, low-volume or custom manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand structural drawings, schematics, and operating manuals.
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and develop a team while maintaining technical credibility on the floor.
- U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with 22 CFR 120.15 (ITAR); may require the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with precision mechanical or rotating equipment manufacturing.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Leverage of Lean Green Belt certification or equivalent applied Lean experience.
- Exposure to defense-regulated or MIL-spec manufacturing environments.
- ERP system experience; CSI familiarity is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced coursework in manufacturing, business management, or a related field.
Compensation & Schedule
Base salary: $85,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
Profit sharing, 401(k), and comprehensive, affordable health coverage.
9/80 schedule: every other Friday off. Shift hours are 5:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment; work near moving equipment, mechanical parts, and lift trucks following safe operating procedures.
May be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or chemicals.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
