About the role
The Production Supervisor leads daily shop-floor operations for switchgear manufacturing, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are met. This role provides direct supervision to production employees while coordinating with engineering, quality, and supply chain to support efficient, on-time build of electrical power and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for switchgear and electrical equipment manufacturing
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees, including onboarding, training, and performance feedback
- Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety-first culture on the shop floor
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve build issues, nonconformances, and process improvements
- Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and work order documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, lean manufacturing, process optimization)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and electrical manufacturing standards
Requirements
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in manufacturing or related field
- Strong knowledge of electrical power and control systems
- Ability to enforce safety policies and maintain a safe work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changes in daily activities
- Ability to travel and work overtime/weekends as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or related field
- Experience in electrical power and control systems preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical manufacturing standards
