Responsibilities
- Evaluates performance, promotes, trains, hires/fires Lake Forest Manufacturing Assembly employees.
- Issues assignments to assembly personnel and moves resources on production floor to meet schedule demands.
- Manages the floor, works with Planners and Process or Manufacturing Engineers to revise operation lead times and production schedule.
- Interprets engineering and manufacturing documentation for workers as required.
- Maintains 5S requirements and a clean and safe work environment.
- Prepares, collects, and maintains reports such as job status, units shipped, units built, rework hours, and monthly squawks for weekly and monthly department production reports.
- Provides technical guidance to other assemblers.
- Ensures assembly personnel are properly performing their assigned tasks and that quality procedures are being followed.
- Verifies manufacturing requirements are being achieved.
- Documents training completed by staff.
- Trains production staff to provide opportunities for future growth and advancement.
- Creates a supportive working relationship with staff and emphasizes continual development.
- Implements continuous improvement by recommending improvements in methods, procedures, and/or equipment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in electrical/mechanical assembly or similar manufacturing production field.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Lead or Supervisor in a production role in aerospace or related field.
- Learns and applies manufacturing procedures and techniques.
- Strong comprehension of configuration management, production, and process control.
- Proficient in computer skills to access released drawings and operate ORACLE to run reports.
- Flexible and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Able to meet or exceed quality and quantity standards.
- Able to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Able to maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
- Able to learn new skills when presented new information.
- Capable of standing/walking for an extended period of time, repetitive hand/feet movement, lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, kneeling, twisting, gripping, pinching, grasping, operating various tools and machines, focusing on details, and maintaining normal levels of productivity.
