Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the 1st shift production team to ensure all wire rope assemblies are produced according to company methods, work instructions, and fabrication tickets.
- Review and interpret complex codes, instructions, and blueprints; assign tasks to team members to optimize the safest and most efficient production means possible.
- Provide expert guidance on calculating wire rope cut lengths and fitting requirements; oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of all production machinery.
- Enforce established quality standards and conduct final inspections to ensure all products meet specifications before shipment.
- Act as the primary safety lead for the 1st shift, ensuring all team members follow Safety Guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Oversee the accurate counting, recording, and reporting of inventory; ensure proper tagging and labeling of all finished goods.
- Mentor and train staff in alignment with the "Mazzella Way," fostering a culture of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in rigging, lifting, or wire rope assembly.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and excellent math skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC literacy for production reporting.
- Strong analytical, planning, and conceptual skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate between shifts and report to management.
- Able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds and remain active on the production floor throughout the shift.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Industrial Engineering or related discipline (in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in a management role in a manufacturing facility, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement).
