About the role
The Night Shift Production Supervisor will lead and develop night shift operations by guiding personnel in a safe, efficient, and high performing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are consistently met, quality standards are upheld, and all reporting and documentation are accurately completed on time.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop night shift operations by guiding personnel in a safe, efficient, and high performing environment.
- Ensure safety, quality, and production standards are met by directing daily activities, reinforcing procedures, and maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Develop and empower team members through coaching, cross training, goal setting, and skill building initiatives that support long-term growth and operational flexibility.
- Oversee staffing decisions, including recommending hires, managing performance, administering progressive discipline, and ensuring fair and respectful treatment of all employees.
- Conduct timely performance evaluations, including 30/60/90-day, mid-year, and annual reviews, incorporating input from team leaders.
- Manage shift workforce planning, including scheduling, overtime coordination, and adjusting staffing to meet production and quality demands.
- Maintain accurate shift records and reporting, including safety documentation, time and attendance, production and scrap data, training logs, and quality verifications.
- Lead investigations, meetings, and improvement initiatives, ensuring proper follow through and communication with appropriate managers.
- Drive continuous improvement in work methods, production efficiency, equipment utilization, and overall shift performance.
- Promote strong housekeeping and safety practices, ensuring adherence to all company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Engineering, Operations, Business, or related fields preferred).
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or team leadership—with demonstrated readiness to step into a supervisory role.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles such as OEE, TPM, 5S, and SPC, with a willingness to continue developing expertise in these systems.
- Experience contributing to or leading change management and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and motivate teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital tools to manage performance, reporting, and communication.
- A growth mindset, strong initiative, and the desire to continually learn and advance within the organization.
