About the role
The Production Supervisor leads daily production operations while developing a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement. This role goes beyond supervising production— it requires a leader who can anticipate challenges, improve processes, and build engaged teams that consistently deliver results. The supervisor partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop People
- Supervise and coach a team of 20+ production associates
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for safety, quality, and productivity
- Provide consistent feedback, recognition, and performance coaching
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
- Foster a positive, respectful, and performance-driven team culture
Drive Operational Execution
- Execute daily production plans to meet customer and operational targets
- Plan and organize work priorities, staffing, and workflow
- Maintain a safe working environment aligned with OSHA and internal safety standards
- Enforce company policies fairly and consistently
- Submit timely incident documentation and corrective actions
- Promote a safety-first culture across the production floor
Improve Processes
- Investigate operational deviations using root-cause analysis
- Implement corrective and preventative actions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and team effectiveness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent professional experience
- 0–5 years of professional work experience
- Demonstrated leadership potential through academics, internships, projects, athletics, military service, or early career roles
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both frontline employees and leadership
- High level of ownership, initiative, and learning agility
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
- Internship or work experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or analytical roles
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization
- Experience leading projects, teams, or initiatives (formal supervision not required)
