Production Supervisor

About the role

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor (1st Shift) at our Longview, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the supervision of all production and personnel-related functions of the Fabrication department. The successful candidate will directly supervise hourly production personnel and communicate daily with management regarding production, personnel, scheduling, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise hourly employees in production, quality, safety, and order value
• Monitor adherence to procedures involving order processing and paperwork
• Ensure company policies are communicated and followed
• Maintain a safe operation per all company standards and guidelines
• Establish and maintain quality consistent with customer expectations using Kaizen continuous improvement methods
• Review and approve all department personnel time records daily
• Contribute to team building

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Intermediate computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Flexibility to work off hours and extended hours as production warrants
• Knowledge of SAP (preferred but not required)
