Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supervising the shift production crew to ensure the kilns, mills and auxiliary equipment are being operated safely and efficiently in order to produce a quality product.
• Follows company Standard Operating Practices for plant operations.
• Ensures all employees and contractors in the plant work in a safe manner, which is consistent with company work rules and MSHA standards.
• Ensures the plant is run in a manner, which will avoid serious damage to equipment.
• Runs the plant in compliance with environmental regulations and ensures that product is manufactured to company standards.
• Ensures that equipment operating time and throughput is maximized in a manner that is consistent with the company’s practices and policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required; a 2-year associate degree is preferred.
• 2 years supervisory experience.
• 5 years experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising in a union environment is preferred.
• Control room or lab experience is preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24/7 plant operations.
• Experience working in the cement, lime or aggregate industry is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
