Schedule
Preferred Schedule: Monday through Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM
Summary
The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of production and operating workers, serving as Production Paint Shop Group Leader over UAW team members.
Responsibilities
- Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency
- Review operations and confer with technical and administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems; analyze production, quality control, and maintenance data to detect issues
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances
- Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records
- Lead and manage a team of 14-18 members, including setting up containment processes and enforcing shop-floor discipline
Skills
- Strong verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques for maximizing manufacturing efficiency
- Familiarity with machines/tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Comfortable analyzing production data and communicating findings/issues to stakeholders
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Word
Must-Have Skills
- Ability to analyze production data and speak to/address issues
- Comfortable using PowerPoint and Word
- Automotive manufacturing experience background
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (Associate's degree in business or related field preferred)
- 5-7 years of automotive manufacturing experience required
