About the role
We're seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing team in the manufacturing and shipment of top-quality interior assemblies within an automotive environment. This role is essential to daily operations, motivating team members, enforcing safety and quality standards, and driving productivity and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Captures and maintains material build schedules for Team Members assigned to the area while ensuring safe work practices.
- Maintains strict compliance with all quality standards by staying updated with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Coordinates and oversees assigned activities to maintain an orderly flow of product throughout the assembly process.
- Communicates effectively and works well with Team Members, analyzing production processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Records and reports any deviations from established methods or procedures and notifies the Team Leader.
- Provides recognition and positive reinforcement for Team Members to foster growth and development.
- Investigates and resolves interpersonal, conflict, and performance issues among Team Members.
- Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety standards and conducting root cause analysis on all recordables and near misses.
- Investigates and resolves problems related to internal defects, customer concerns, and customer returns, communicating directly with the Customer Liaison.
- Participates in design reviews, supplier issue resolution, new product development meetings, and returned parts investigations.
- Maintains sequence numbers and ensures optimal plant efficiency and customer service.
- Manages and drives continuous improvement efforts, optimizing plant communications through various systems and overseeing the Standardized Work System.
- Motivates, corrects, coaches, and teaches Team Members to achieve their full potential.
- Manages attendance and overtime to enhance manning efficiencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- A bachelor's degree is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities with a hands-on, proactive approach.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
