About the role
In this role, you will report to the Production Manager and oversee a multi-skilled team responsible for both fabrication and assembly operations. The position requires a versatile manufacturing leader with strong welding knowledge who can balance production demands, quality expectations, and workforce development across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of approximately 10 to 15 employees across assembly and welding operations.
- Manage daily production activities to ensure schedules and customer requirements are met.
- Supervise steel and aluminum welding processes while ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Support assembly operations and balance resources between fabrication and final assembly activities.
- Monitor labor performance, production output, and operational efficiency.
- Train and develop team members on welding techniques, assembly processes, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Review production data and ensure work orders are processed accurately within SAP or another ERP platform.
- Coordinate with production planning and other manufacturing departments to resolve bottlenecks.
- Maintain work-in-process accuracy and production documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives within the department.
Requirements
- 4+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
- Assembly and welding manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of steel and aluminum welding processes.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment.
- SAP or ERP system experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety programs and procedures.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
