Production Supervisor (6am - 6:30pm Sunday through Tuesday, every other Wednesday)

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides recognition to employees.
  • Ensures training is provided for effective performance.
  • Proactively addresses issues with employees with supportive documentation.
  • Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and applicable budget requirements.
  • Counsels employees on performance issues.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews.
  • Captures and documents employee feedback.
  • Coordinates effective delegation of work assignments and training.
  • Engages in providing a safe working environment for the employees by actively participating in and encouraging the employees to participate in the S.E.E. Committee, other company sponsored safety programs.
  • Takes an active role as a Safety team member.
  • Continuously speaks to operators about proactive measures to promote a safe work environment.
  • Audits and manages the production processes and employees to ensure quality of production and adherence to established standards and work practices.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Communicates potential hazards immediately to Manager.
  • Engages in gemba walks and employee passdown information.
  • Assists in developing CI plans and participates in kaizen activities for improving Business Systems, cost reductions, and eliminating waste in the operation.
  • Implements quality improvements using the 8D problem solving methods.
  • Works closely with the schedulers to minimize unevenness in the schedule and develops action plans with the schedulers to act upon any schedule interruptions.
  • Ensures employees are actively standardizing their work area using 6S.
  • Update/Create the 6S program as needed.
  • Monitors the accuracy of documentation and electronic transactions to ensure the accuracy of work order and inventory records.
  • Works with a sense of urgency that enables production schedules to be met while minimizing unnecessary costs related to downtime and labor and material variances; and without jeopardizing the health and safety of the general workforce and/or the quality and accuracy of production and without violating established work standards and ISO requirements.
  • Works with Production Planner to assist with production order processing and execution.
  • Conducts Daily passdown meetings within shifts.
  • Trains operators in SAP.
  • Ensures all necessary transactions and paperwork is filled out accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Works with Manager and Quality to assist in conducting internal Quality Audits and support during customer and ISO audits.
  • Conducts new hire on-boarding training.
  • Utilizes Camline to ensure our production processes are in control and operators are responding to flagged items.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures all SOP’s on the floor, are accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct critical to quality audits with operators, to ensure operators are following critical process steps and following SOPs.
  • Utilizes the Ignition system to help drive smarter operations.
  • Provides support to R&D projects and DOE’s with Engineers.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve non-routine problems with process equipment.
  • Works with Engineers to create/update Response Flow Checklists.
  • Ensures process records and SAP transactions are being completed by shifts responsible for the process.
  • Make sure projects are completed on time.
  • Assists the Production Manager with day to day operations to ensure we are always thriving for excellence.

Qualifications

  • Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly.
  • Possess strong organizational, leadership and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated and possesses superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • The ability to motivate, coach, and lead hourly employees.
  • Educated in Engineering or Business Management preferred.
  • HS diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory work experience.
  • Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
  • Sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by the business needs.
  • Ability to read, understand and write effective work instructions and perform math computations and computer data entry.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb a ladder up to 15 ft. and walk and stand during entire shift.
  • Good visual ability to detect quality defects.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment.
