About the role
This position is responsible for leading and supervising production operations on the 3rd shift at our Schaumburg, IL facility. The Production Supervisor ensures safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production associates to achieve operational excellence.
- Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and food safety standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to optimize workflow and resolve bottlenecks.
- Prepare and present shift reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, and safety metrics.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and production management software.
- Ability to work 3rd shift hours (e.g., 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and occasional overtime as needed.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
