Job Description

We are looking to hire a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at our Bessemer, AL location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Under the direction of the Production Manager, lead and direct the work of hourly production employees to achieve daily production targets while maintaining a high level of safety and quality.

  • Production Oversight: Manage daily operations, monitor workflows, problem-solve, and implement process improvements to meet production standards and targets.

  • Mechanical Operations: Provide support and hands-on maintenance of mechanical equipment/tooling in partnership with maintenance supervisors to optimize equipment and processes. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with repairs to ensure smooth production.

  • Safety and Compliance: Champion safety programs, conduct safety audits and reinforce a culture of workplace safety and accountability ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations/plant leadership to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years previous supervisory or management experience in a heavy fast-paced manufacturing and/or construction environment is required.

  • Experience in ductile iron products a plus, foundry experience highly preferred.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical) or Manufacturing and/or related field desired.

  • Ability to lead and direct workforce, to achieve a technically competent and highly motivated workforce, ensuring all necessary training and development to promote skill development, quality, safety, and compliance are met.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.

  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
