Reports to: Production Manager • Located: Houston, TX • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am

About the role

The 2nd Shift Supervisor leads and manages the team of 2nd shift employees to ensure efficient, high-quality production of products, parts, or components.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees follow safety measures and conduct themselves safely.
  • Supervise and lead a team of employees during the second shift.
  • Facilitate daily team startup meetings and safety meetings.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to meet performance goals.
  • Oversee efficient and effective operation of the second shift.
  • Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Address and resolve issues or challenges that arise during the shift.
  • Monitor product or service quality to meet company and customer expectations.
  • Communicate with management on issues and production requirements.
  • Support activities related to Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities on 2nd Shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company documents including production drawings.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and address issues, make decisions under pressure, and implement solutions.
  • Basic computer skills using applications such as email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Qualifications

Secondary education or training in manufacturing and continuous improvement are desirable.
