About the role

Eaton’s GEIS division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. Relocation assistance will be provided for any candidate residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 per year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of safety and quality through daily visual management and leading tier meetings with all department personnel in the area of responsibility.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools to reduce operational costs, inventory, and lead times while aligning with long-term manufacturing strategies.
  • Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements to meet customer deadlines.
  • Enforce and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance issues and initiate disciplinary actions if required.
  • Maintain control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems, and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
  • Create the foundation for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standard work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
  • Ensure assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instructions, and tools to successfully perform their jobs. Build organizational capabilities within his team (technical and leadership competencies).
  • Oversee all operations and ensure the safety, productivity, and efficiency of the facility during overnight hours, serving as the primary point of leadership and accountability for all business activities conducted during the night shift.

Qualifications

  • Required (Basic): Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR high school diploma/GED with 3 years of manufacturing/operations experience. Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/operations or related field of study. Bilingual (Spanish and English). Minimum three (3) years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity in a manufacturing environment. SAP business system experience. Foundational knowledge of lean principles and manufacturing processes.
