Production Superintendent

About the Role

We are seeking a highly dedicated and experienced Production Superintendent to oversee and manage on-site activities for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and maintain positive working relationships with on-site staff, including managing various crews.
• Thoroughly understand project contracts, specifications, design details, and addenda.
• Review project documents for design issues, impractical details, and potential code violations; report findings to the Project Manager.
• Assist in developing and updating the project schedule.
• Plan and review project scope, including quality control, safety practices, temporary utilities, equipment, and manpower.
• Coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and labor.
• Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
• Cooperate with inspection agencies and implement necessary actions based on their reports.
• Manage and document equipment rentals within the project budget.
• Record and report the percentage of work completed each month.
• Document all Requests for Information (RFI), Changes of Scope, and related items.
• Review and approve daily reports, as-built prints, and invoices.
• Maintain good relations and communication with all project stakeholders, including the public.
• Review invoices to ensure accuracy and work with the Project Manager and Project Administrator on billing.
• Oversee the site crew's adherence to safety protocols and hold weekly safety meetings.
• Collaborate with the Safety Manager on all aspects of project safety.

Requirements

• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, plans, redlines, grading, and equipment operation.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements (OSHA 30 certification required).
• Valid CPR/AED certificate.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in underground utilities/facilities work.
• A minimum of 3 years of foreman experience in the underground utility sector.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

Shop & Field Roles

• Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions.
• Work may be performed in confined spaces.
• Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt.
• Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Frequent overhead reaching and lifting.
• Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Manual labor, including hand digging as needed.
• Some Saturday work required; Sundays are rarely needed.
