Production Specialist - Battery Systems

About the Role

The BSA Production Specialist assembles Battery Systems units and supports labor training related to the Battery System Assembly process. This role assists in developing, coordinating, and participating in productivity and quality improvements within the Battery Module Assembly operation.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize production efficiency and produce high-quality products based on understanding of the product and equipment.
  • Support issue resolution through root cause analysis, implementing permanent countermeasures, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Use appropriate problem-solving tools to provide rapid improvement with sustainable results.
  • Assist process engineering with part processing and troubleshooting for ongoing scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, and downtime reduction.
  • Ensure adherence to standard processes for data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate the efficient use of raw materials and ingredients in making products.
  • Manage daily operations through KPIs, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement to achieve KPI targets.
  • Support and manage continuous improvement activities in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives.
  • Partner and coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, and other internal departments to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Coach supervisors on standard work, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and effectively managing their performance.
  • Ensure production teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience within automotive, aerospace, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to production goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
  • Demonstrated accountability and a strong sense of ownership in your work.
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Battery manufacturing background.
  • Fluent with CAD programs (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Experience developing and managing Capital Budget.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily on the production floor and may require occasional overtime. Shift: 1st.
