About the role
Battery Manufacturing Technicians at BETA Technologies play a crucial role in the assembly and quality control of electric powertrain components, including motors, battery packs, and inverters. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, performing in-process quality control inspections, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on assembly of electric powertrain components (Motors, Battery Packs, Inverters)
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes as the key process owner
- Performing in-process quality control inspection tasks, identifying and raising concerns about process deviations, and participating in troubleshooting efforts to solve them
- Maintaining accurate and clear manufacturing documentation in compliance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations
- Performing regular inspection, cleaning, and servicing of manufacturing equipment along with routine and preventative maintenance
- Maintaining maintenance logs for all machines or processes they oversee, using proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Providing regular productivity reports and incident reports as needed
- Using all mandated safety equipment and complying with all safety requirements per company and government regulations and guidelines
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing setting or a Two-year degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university, or technical school preferred
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, the principles of Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement, Lean 5S and Kanban preferred
- Ability to assist in problem analysis and independent decision-making
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of battery/electronic components
- High Voltage assembly experience preferred, especially related to DC energy storage systems
- Good team communication skills required
- Google G-Suite including drive, mail, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, charts, hangouts; slack, application lifecycle
- Aerospace Industry Manufacturing Experience
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment and machines
- Previous Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- Can be on their feet 8hr a day
